~~There were approximately 3000 people gathered at university’s main gym to celebrate the annual “International Night” on March 22, 2019. UR International - Student Services, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at the University of Regina and the International Students’ Association hosted the event. The event also sponsored by SaskTel, CIBC, Wheaton Kia, Connected World Translation Services and other units at the university.
The “International Night” brought together all of the wonderful aspects of cultural diversities on campus. It featured diverse cultural performances, “Student Idol”--a student talent competition, and a cultural costume fashion showcase. The Chinese culture is one of the diverse cultures presented at the University of Regina, and the Confucius Institute played an important role in showcasing the featured Chinese elements at International Night. During the event, the Confucius Institute presented a Chinese folk dance ,traditional costume performance, singing and calligraphy. Additionally, the tea ceremony and tasting offered by the Confucius Institute also attracted lots of participants to understand and experience the unique Chinese tea culture.
