Chinese Culture Presentation at the University of Regina’s 2018 International Night

~~On March 16th, approximately 1800 people packed the gym to celebrate the multicultural of the University’s community.  UR International - Student Services, in collaboration with the International Students' Association and the Confucius Institute at the University of Regina hosted the event. The event was also sponsored by CIBC and Sasktel  this year. This event  brought together all of the wonderful aspects of cultural diversity on campus.


This year, featured activities included diverse cultural performances, “Student Idle”--a student talent competition, and a traditional costume fashion show. During the event, the Confucius Institute presented a Chinese folk dance , a Beijing Opera costume show, and a Chinese Kungfu and Tai Chi performance. These performances were well received by the audience and attracted a lot of attention and interest from the audience. Additionally, the Confucius Institute set up a cultural display so that the audience can personally experience Chinese cultural elements. 


The University of Regina has long-lasting fruitful partnership with Chinese academic institutions and government agencies. Chinese culture is one of the diverse cultures at  the University of Regina. The Confucius Institute played an important role in showcasing  the featured Chinese elements at International Night.
