The Confucius Institute summer training camp, composed of 18 students from the Chinese specialty at the University of Regina, went to Hunan University in China on May 8, 2014. The 4-week-long study tour on Chinese studies and culture experience, completed successfully.
Students at the summer camp have completed 60 hours credit course according to the curriculum of Chinese learning. Hunan University has organized some well-known professors and scholars to offer the corresponding courses to the students. The majority of the students were on their first trip to China. They were extremely excited, and treasure this study opportunity. In addition to normal classroom study, they have listened respectfully to Chinese history, law, calligraphy and tea culture, and visited places such as Beijing, Zhangjiajie, Yueyang, Shaoshan, which has left a happy recollection of China. This summer camp activity obtains support from the Confucius Institute headquarters, Hunan University, and the University of Regina. While in Changsha, the students participated in the “English Corner” at Hunan University in where international students find friends of Chinese schoolmate, and promote Sino- Canadian friendship.
